THE 3 BEST THINGS I PURCHASED IN 2022

Looking through my Amazon purchase history I can see I bought a ton of stuff in 2022. Let’s be honest some of it was worth it and others well we all need diapers and baby wipes.

TLDR My top 3 are, the whatever pan, a new desk (and light bar), and Lego sets. Buy things that make you feel like your life is a little better, who cares if they actually do.

The Whatever Pan

Yes I have other pans, but something about a grill pan cooks food — meat in particular — in a special way.

It’s weird how a pan can alter the way you feel about the same chicken stir fry or how a few grill lines on a burger can make it taste better but it does.

This won’t make you a pro chef or anything but I think it makes my dinners taste better and that is a win for me.

A new desk and light bar

I have been working from home since March 13, 2020 and I officially won’t be going back to an office full time for the foreseeable future. I had been working at a desk that was about twenty-seven inches and a pretty dark space. Last year I invested in a desk roughly double the size and a simple light bar above my monitor.

It has been a game changer to say the least. The extra space has let me spread out just a bit more.

The light bar has helped me both visually and mentally.

Visually I can actually see more on my desk, no brainer.

Mentally the light bar has helped me with turning work on and off. When I sit down in the morning and turn the light on I am immediately entered into work mode. At the end of the day, I flick it off and I complete my shutdown for the day.

Lego Sets

So what if I am nearly 35 years old and this past year I purchased two lego sets and was gifted one.

Another top purchase for me last year because it was something I could focus on with my hands and not on a screen.

Like many I spend hours everyday in front of a screen for work and more hours then I would like to say staring at my phone.

Finding something that is hands on and not screen related has been great.

Spending an hour building a Vespa or Dominic Torettos Dodge Charger has helped me relax and find a deep sense of calm.

I plan to do more this year, just need to find places to store the finished creations.
