MY NYC MARATHON PHOTOS WERE PUBLISHED ON BUSINESS INSIDER

Ten years on the engineering team, and now my photos are on the site.

I’ve been on the engineering team at Business Insider for over 10 years.

This week, my photos ran on the site.

Business Insider's photo story on the 2026 NYC Marathon, with my photo of the elite men's field as the lead image

Business Insider used my shot of the men’s pro field as the lead photo in Tristin Hoffman’s story, and several of my other shots are in the story as well.

Marathon Sunday started for me capturing runners getting off the subway and heading to the Staten Island Ferry. The platform and the plaza were filled with nervous energy and questionable fashion choices.

Runners in throwaway layers, including a red velvet robe, wait on the Whitehall St subway platform with their race bags A man in a white disposable coverall and neon racing shoes walks through the plaza carrying his race bag

I spent the rest of the day on the Upper East Side.

First, just off the Queensboro Bridge, I caught the pro fields and a few speedy celebrities - Casey Neistat and Oz Pearlman. I even captured the race’s Grand Marshal Tracy Morgan.

Casey Neistat, in black with his name on his bib, pushes up First Avenue beside a runner in orange past the orange barricades Oz Pearlman runs up First Avenue shirtless, with OZ painted on his chest and Mentalist on his shorts, under yellow trees

Then I went over to 5th Avenue and shot runners making their way up into Central Park around mile 24. There I was able to capture some of my friends and others like the Statue of Liberty.

A smiling runner dressed as the Statue of Liberty, in a teal gown and crown, runs through scattered cups A runner in a tan shirt reaches out for a high-five from the crowd as confetti falls around him

My favorites from the day are in the album.

I ran this race in 2014 and 2019, and hope to do it again someday. Whether you’re running, cheering, or shooting, Marathon Sunday is the best day to be a New Yorker.
